The appointment, effective March 1, 2024, is a strategic move by Munich Re HealthTech to strengthen its position in the market. Ramadan will lead the company’s strategy to enhance its software solutions for the health insurance sector. He brings 27 years of experience to his new role, having served as Chief Delivery Officer at Munich Re HealthTech since January 2016.

The former CEO, Gerry Raftopoulos, who played a key role in shaping Munich Re HealthTech over the past 28 years, departed in February 2024. Under Raftopoulos’ leadership, the company expanded its services to clients across 19 markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The current Head of Munich Re Life & Health for MENA, Pakistan & Takaful Business, Owais Ansari, expressed confidence in Ramadan’s ability to create significant value for the organization and lead the company to excel.
