DLA Piper has announced the addition of two partners to its leveraged finance practice in New York City. Alan Rockwell and Heather Waters Borthwick join the firm from Shearman & Sterling.
Rockwell, formerly the co-head of Shearman’s U.S. bank finance practice, brings valuable experience advising leading investment and commercial banks, private credit funds, and other financial institutions. He joined Shearman in 2019 from Allen & Overy, where he co-headed its U.S. leveraged finance group.
Waters Borthwick, who joined Shearman in 2021, advises financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers on various bank financing matters. Her expertise includes leveraged acquisition financings, asset-based financings, and investment grade lending transactions.
The addition of Rockwell and Waters Borthwick further expands DLA Piper’s leveraged finance practice and enhances its ability to provide strategic counsel to clients navigating complex transactions and financing matters.
