Bank fraud suspect sought after attempting to cash fake $2K check: sheriff

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a bank in Montello, Wisconsin. The suspect went into National Exchange Bank and presented a check for $2,260, claiming it was from a drywall business in Pardeeville. However, the bank later determined that the check, account, and business name were all fraudulent.

The man did provide identification with the same name as listed on the check, “Pedro Luis Tosado Luis Jr.” This has led the sheriff’s office to believe that the suspect’s true identity may be Pedro Luis Tosado Luis Jr.

Through their investigation, the sheriff’s office reviewed surveillance footage and identified a suspect vehicle. The vehicle, a gray Nissan Maxima with Georgia license plates CVU-5334, was seen in the Waukesha and Mount Pleasant areas on February 1. The sheriff’s office is now seeking information from the public to locate the suspect and the vehicle.
